Artist's Statement:

These works reference the idea of herd mentality and all the issues that arise. The notion seems especially pertinent, given the racial, socio-economic, age, and gender pigeon-holing going on throughout the news media in regards to the current presidential election.The work also has analogies to immigration and flux in general, which I find pretty interesting. Formally, the use of repetition as a signifier for time spent and labor is something that I always try to exploit in my work. - MM
