The "In Time" series are works on paper that are in a sense conceptual drawing/paintings. The process mimics the message. the bottom layer of imagery is cut from a large paintstick on paper drawing, of forest land. Acrylic, graphite and pastel are layered over this surface, sometimes between the efforts to preserve the natural environment, and destructive development. There is an attempt to strike a balance in these pieces, the balance that I believe can exist between preservation and development with thoughtful planning. - Betsy Damos
