Artist's Statement
When I see someone, or something beautiful, I begin to conjure images in my mind that I want to preserve on film. These images, sometimes dark and haunting, other times playful, ten to beg the question...Who is the person and what are they doing here? I like to use models who possess both an innocence and sense of danger simultaneously. Most are friends, artists, actors and crew members whom I've met over the past 20 years as a make-up designer in the film industry. The play of light and shadows is mostly an influence of the film noir genre of American cinema, and composition a result of my love and study of art history for which I received by BA in 1984.
