Coastal Connection, a service of Gallery 50 in association with Jane Knaus of Graphics By The Sea- offers regular trips to view art exhibitions in such regional art centers as Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. Our mission is to provide both an interactive experience along with transportation at a reasonable rate to those interested individuals who live in the Rehoboth Beach area.
This trip will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. We will be visiting Longwood Gardens in Brandywine PA as well as the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA.
Longwood Gardens 
In 1906, Pierre S. du Pont purchased the Peirce Arboretum to save its trees from being cut for lumber. Over the next nearly half century, Mr du Pont developed Longwood Gardens into what it is today, a magnificent horticultural showplace. Longwood gardens encompasses 1,050 acres of plants, more fountains than any other garden in the US, educational and visitor programming, and over 400 performances a year. Brandywine River Museum
Exhibiting American art in a 19th-century grist mill, the Brandywine River Museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of Wyeths and its fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting. Click here for more information.
Itinerary
The bus will depart from Gallery 50 at 7:30am and return at approximately 8:00pm. After first visiting the gardens, we will lunch at Longwood Gardens. Following lunch, we will proceed to the Brandywine River Museum. Leaving the museum at approximately 6pm, we will return to Rehoboth at approximately 8:00pm.
The cost is $45.00 dollars + a $5.00 cash tip for the driver. This price does not include admission fees or lunch at Longwood Gardens, or admission to the Brandywine River Museum.
Admission to Longwood Gardens is $12 for adults, $11 for adults 62+.Children 4 and under- free.
Admission to Brandywine River Museum is $10 adults and $6 for adults 65+ and children 6-12.
